Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Wakefield primary schools, including those with special educational needs. The role offers a daily rate of £92-£110 and requires a genuine passion for welfare, education and development of children.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable and capable of working closely with teachers to help SEN students participate in lessons and progress, with prior roles such as TA, SEN Sport Coach or Healthcare

Qualifications

• A Level 2 Certificate in Early Years Education or Childcare is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Experience working with young children in educational or childcare settings is preferred.
• Basic first aid certification is advantageous but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver small group tutoring or catch-up programmes.
• Plan and deliver one-to-one tutoring or catch-up programmes.
• Assist classroom teachers to ensure SEN students participate and make progress.
• Undertake break time and lunch time duties as directed.
• Maintain strong communication with colleagues, students and parents/carers.
