Job description
Seeking a 2IC and Educational Leader to assist our team at Templestowe

Paisley Park ELC has recently taken over the Centre at Templestowe and has done a full renovation. The Centre is now equipped with beautiful resources and a brand new environment both indoors and outdoors. Our philosophy is now fully embedded in the daily operations, including our commitment to high-quality resources, providing children with opportunities to engage with real living things (pets) and a nutritious menu developed by highly qualified chefs in the industry.

We are looking for key roles at the Centre to inject passion, enthusiasm, experience and leadership. Roles include:

  • Educational Leader
  • Second in Charge/Assistant Director

The Educational Leader will be responsible for supporting the Educators in implementing high-quality programs at the centre. Working both on and off the floor, the Educational Leader will mentor the team in their daily practices to ensure they are engaged in quality teaching and delivering a program that meets the National Quality Standard, particularly Quality Area 1. We provide time ‘off the floor’ for implementing many tasks requiring focus. However, there is a requirement for the Educational Leader to be engaged with teams across numerous age groups in everyday routines, practices and programs.

The second person in charge will be responsible for duties that support the Director in everyday operations. This includes but is not limited to rostering, ordering, monitoring program implementation, daily duties of all Educators and anything else that is required to operate a high-quality service.

Paisley Park implements a unique Quality Improvement Program that embeds professional learning in everyday practice. A significant component of our framework is in-house mentoring, which may occur in or outside of hours. The Educational Leader is responsible for supporting the Director in facilitating monthly professional engagement sessions, including preparing presentations and reporting on the progress of improvement to the broader Paisley Park family.

To be part of our Paisley Park family, the successful candidate will have:

  • An Early Childhood qualification (Diploma, University Degree)
  • A Working with Children Check
  • A Senior First Aid/Anaphylaxis/Asthma Certification
  • A Driver's License, or the ability to navigate public transport
  • Australian Residency or sponsorship capacity
  • Child Protection Certification and an understanding of their Mandatory Reporting Responsibilities
  • Experience developing and implementing high-quality educational programs and curriculum frameworks
  • The ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing.

We change lives, not just children. If you're looking to challenge yourself and become a better Educator and leader, apply for this role and have a chat with us.
