Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Security Commissioning Technician to join our Systems team in Melbourne. You will commission, configure, test, and optimise security solutions across projects, working with Project Managers, Engineers, and customers to ensure safe, efficient delivery.

You will have 2–6 years’ experience in a technical security role, a trade qualification in Security Systems, and the ability to obtain an Australian licence. Travel may be required as part of projects.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years’ experience in security systems or similar role.
• Trade qualification in Security Systems or related field.
• Ability to obtain NSW Security Provider Licence.
• Experience commissioning, configuring, and troubleshooting integrated security solutions.
• Strong knowledge of IT networks, servers, and system integration.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, configure, and maintain security systems (Access Control, CCTV, Intercom).
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues with expert troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders to deliver on time and to spec.
• Support project planning, scheduling, and execution activities.
• Provide technical guidance to junior technicians and apprentices.
• Identify and mitigate workplace hazards to maintain a safe environment.
• Ensure compliance with Safety, Health & Environment procedures.
