Job summary

AVI Protection Group Pty Ltd is seeking a Security Patrol Officer to provide a professional presence across the Nambucca region. You will work independently and with the team to protect client premises, respond to alarms and support safety for clients, staff and the community.

You will complete patrols, verify access controls, respond to incidents and perform handovers with accurate reporting. A NSW security licence and first aid qualification are mandatory, with a driver licence required for

Responsibilities

Job description

The Security Patrol Officer provides a professional, visible and proactive security presence across AVI's Nambucca region. Working independently and alongside the wider team, the officer protects client premises, responds to alarm activations and supports the safety of clients, staff and the community.

Key responsibilities

Complete allocated patrols of commercial, residential and other contracted sites in accordance with the patrol run, site instructions and required service windows. Conduct thorough physical inspections where required.

Check doors, windows, gates, fencing and accessible areas for signs of forced entry, damage, unauthorised access, hazards or suspicious activity. Record and elevate anything requiring attention.

Attend dispatched alarm activations promptly and safely. Assess the situation, follow response procedures, communicate findings to the Operations Room and arrange further assistance when required.

Complete scheduled opening and closing duties, including access checks, securing premises and operating alarm systems in accordance with client instructions.

Remain contactable and available during agreed on-call periods, including daytime coverage where allocated. Meet the agreed response arrangements and immediately report anything affecting availability or fitness for duty.

Provide authorised staff escorts, welfare checks and assistance to other AVI officers or client sites as directed.

Use calm communication and de-escalation, assess risks before acting and request police or emergency assistance when necessary. Provide first aid within training and competence.

Complete patrol records, alarm response reports, incident reports and shift handovers through AVI's approved reporting systems, including Jotform where required. Record factual observations, actions, times and relevant photographs.

Maintain contact with the Operations Room, respond to communications and complete required lone-worker check-ins. Report delays, missed services, access problems and changes to the patrol run immediately.

Complete vehicle pre-start checks, maintain fuel and cleanliness, check issued safety equipment and report faults or damage promptly. Use fleet vehicles and fuel cards only as authorised.

About you

A current NSW Class 1A Security Licence, maintained throughout employment.

A current HLTAID011 Provide First Aid qualification, with CPR currency maintained to AVI's requirements.

A current driver licence valid for the patrol vehicle, provisional licence minimum, subject to AVI's fleet and insurance requirements.

The legal right to work in Australia.

Availability for the agreed roster, including night work, weekends, public holidays, early morning opens and rostered daytime on-call duties where required.

Reliable arrangements to attend the nominated patrol handover location and meet agreed on-call response requirements.

The ability to safely perform the inherent duties of the role, including driving at night, walking patrols, using stairs and working outdoors, with reasonable adjustments where appropriate.

Clear verbal communication and the ability to write accurate, factual incident reports.

Confidence using smartphones, navigation, digital reporting systems and communication equipment.

The ability to work independently, follow detailed instructions and remain calm under pressure.

AVI Protection Group (NSW M/L: 000108237) is a local Security provider based in Kempsey servicing Taree to Coffs Harbour. We are hiring for a Security Patrol Officer working a minimum of x3 Days per week (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) with an average of 6 hours per day + daytime on call & paid early morning opens.

The role is ideally suited to someone living in Macksville / Nambucca Heads areas. Our patrol teams provide 24/7 coverage across the Nambucca Valley and Kempsey Shire supporting our Static & Site Security teams across our operational areas.
