Job summary

Accenture is seeking a Security Analyst to join the Managed Security Services team in Australia. The role involves monitoring and investigating security alerts, performing threat hunting, and supporting incident response across enterprise environments using SIEMs like Microsoft Sentinel and Splunk.

You will work with Defender, CrowdStrike and Cortex XDR, while advancing detections and security visibility. You will bring hands-on SOC experience, knowledge of cloud security in Azure, and strong

Qualifications

• Practical experience in a SOC/MSSP/MDR or security operations environment.
• Hands-on experience investigating security alerts and incidents.
• Experience with SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel or Splunk.
• Exposure to EDR/XDR platforms like Defender, CrowdStrike or Cortex XDR.
• Understanding of identity and account compromise scenarios.
• Exposure to Azure, Entra ID or cloud security environments.
• Knowledge of incident response methodologies and security investigations.
• Experience analysing logs across multiple data sources.
• Exposure to detection tuning or threat hunting.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework and attacker behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and investigate security alerts across enterprise environments.
• Analyse security events using SIEM platforms (Sentinel, Splunk).
• Investigate suspicious activity across identity, cloud, endpoint and network telemetry.
• Support incident response activities including scoping, containment and escalation.
• Work with Defender, CrowdStrike and Cortex XDR technologies.
• Tune detections to reduce false positives and alert noise.
• Develop new detections and customer-specific use cases.
• Participate in threat hunting based on threat intelligence or indicators.
• Identify gaps in logging, detections and security visibility; review findings.
• Assist vulnerability management by prioritising findings.
