Job summary

RNA’s Brisbane Showgrounds is seeking a Security Officer to join our iconic events precinct. You will support safety, security and logistics across high-profile events, including Ekka, with a fast-paced, hands-on approach.

This permanent part-time role offers flexibility to move to full-time hours, a chance to work at a premier venue, and opportunities to contribute to crowd management, incident reporting, and emergency response while complying with RSA and liquor legislation.

Qualifications

• Security license class 1 with crowd control & monitoring is required.
• RSA certificate desirable, not mandatory.
• Current QLD driver's license required.
• Forklift license desirable, not mandatory.
• CPR & First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day safety, security, and logistics operations across the precinct.
• Assist with security planning, procedures, and event operations.
• Monitor security systems, control room operations, access control, and alarms.
• Conduct incident reporting, risk assessments, and operational documentation.
• Support emergency response, first aid, and workplace safety initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with RSA requirements, crowd management practices, and liquor legislation.

Education

Join the team behind some of Brisbane’s biggest events and experiences. As a Security Officer, you'll support the Precinct Protection & Logistics Manager to help keep our world-class precinct safe, secure, and running smoothly. From major events to the Ekka, no two days are the same.

This is a permanent part-time opportunity, with the flexibility to work up to full-time hours.

What You'll Do

Support day-to-day safety, security, and logistics operations across the precinct.

Assist with security planning, procedures, and event operations.

Monitor security systems, control room operations, access control, and alarms.

Conduct incident reporting, risk assessments, and operational documentation.

Support emergency response, first aid, and workplace safety initiatives.

Ensure compliance with RSA requirements, crowd management practices, and Queensland liquor legislation.

To be successful you will require:

Security License (Class 1) with Crowd Control& Monitoring

RSA Certificate(RMLV desirable, not requirement)
