Job summary

Nepean Hospital, part of Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, is seeking a Security Officer on a Permanent Full Time basis. The role focuses on maintaining a safe environment for staff, patients and visitors and requires a NSW Security Licence class 1A and a Certificate 2 in Security Operations.

You will join a rostered security team, work 38 hours per week on site, and be eligible for NBMLHD benefits and ongoing education opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have Certificate 2 in Security Operations and NSW Security Licence class 1A.
• First Aid Certificate required.
• Experience in a similar security role is preferred.
• Ability to work in a 24/7 rotating roster.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment for staff, volunteers, contractors, patients and visitors.
• Contribute to ensuring the hospital remains secure for all attendees and staff.
• Operate CCTV and access control systems as part of security duties.

What you will bring to the role

1. Must have Certificate 2 in Security Operations with a current NSW Security Licence class 1A, and current First Aid Certificate
2. Effective experience working in a similar role
3. Demonstrated experience in responding to a variety of changing and challenging situations
4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of managers, staff and a diverse range of patients and members of the public
5. Must be able to effectively work independently and as part of a multidiscplinary team
6. Practical knowledge of security equipment including CCTV operations and access control systems
7. Capability and availability to participate in a 24 hour/seven-day rotating roster
