Job summary

A government contractor is seeking a Security Technician to support Cyber solutions aligned with best practices and security principles. You will work closely with the technical team to maintain and upgrade Cyber tools, requiring experience in Defence and strong knowledge of security frameworks. Candidates must possess NV2 Clearance and a solid understanding of Cyber tools and principles.

Qualifications

  • Australian Citizens with NV2 Clearance are preferred.
  • Experience as a Security Technician in Defence is required.
  • Strong knowledge of security principles is essential.

Overview

Australian Citizens With NV2 Clearance previous defence experience preferred.

This role will work within the SEA2273 Sub-Program of the Warfighting Networks and Applications Support Organisation (WSO), ICT Delivery Division, Chief Information Officer Group, Department of Defence.

The Security Technician will be required to perform and/or have responsibility for duties including, but not limited to:

Responsibilities
  • Support the design, build, development and transition of Cyber solutions aligned with best practice and relevant governance and security principles and frameworks.
  • Proactively maintain and upgrade Cyber tools.
  • Work with SEA2273 technical team members to ensure integration and operation of cyber tools with all ICT services in the Minerva stack
  • Assist with development and build defect remediation of cyber toolsets on Minerva systems.
  • Author, review, maintain and contribute to Solution Designs, Standard Operating Procedures, As-Built-As-Configured and other required documentation artefacts.
  • Experience working as a Security Technician within the Defence environment.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and supporting cyber toolsets in large scale and geographically dispersed environments.
  • Strong knowledge of the Fortinet suite of products.
  • Strong knowledge of Cyberark and Carbon Black products.
  • Strong knowledge of security principles including Zero trust model, Tiered model, Security boundaries.
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team, good communication, organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Additional Qualifications
  • Experience working in Defence.
  • Knowledge and experience of the SEA2273 Minerva system.
  • Knowledge and experience of the security threat landscape and related security mitigations.
  • Knowledge of the following frameworks and standards:
