Job summary

Seisma seeks an experienced Security Architect to design, implement and govern cloud security across multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) with a strong focus on secure-by-design solutions.

You will collaborate with Cloud Engineering, Platform, DevOps and Security teams to uplift cloud security posture, align with APRA CPS 234 and internal standards, and actively configure controls across IaaS, PaaS, containers and serverless apps.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience in Cyber Security, Cloud Security, Security Engineering or Security Architecture.
• Hands-on experience securing AWS environments.
• Experience across GCP and Azure security services and controls.
• Experience in regulated environments such as banking, financial services, insurance or government.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure cloud architectures across AWS, GCP and Azure environments.
• Develop and maintain cloud security standards, patterns, guardrails and reference architectures.
• Configure and manage cloud-native security services including IAM, encryption, logging, network security and threat detection capabilities.
• Lead security reviews, threat modelling and risk assessments for cloud-hosted applications and platforms.
• Implement and optimise cloud security controls across IaaS, PaaS, container and serverless environments.
• Partner with engineering teams to embed security into CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code deployments.
• Build and maintain security controls aligned with Zero Trust principles.
• Support cloud migration and modernisation initiatives from a security architecture perspective.
• Drive remediation of cloud security findings identified through security assessments and posture management tools.
• Ensure compliance with banking and regulatory requirements including APRA CPS 234 and relevant security frameworks.

Role:

We are seeking an experienced Security Architect to join a leading financial services organisation. This is a hands-on architecture role responsible for designing, implementing and governing cloud security controls across multi-cloud environments, with a primary focus on AWS, followed by Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure.

The successful candidate will work closely with Cloud Engineering, Platform, DevOps and Security teams to build secure-by-design cloud solutions, uplift cloud security posture and ensure alignment with banking regulatory requirements and internal security standards.

This is not a purely advisory role. You will be expected to actively configure, implement and validate security controls across cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

• 7+ years' experience in Cyber Security, Cloud Security, Security Engineering or Security Architecture.
• Strong hands-on experience securing AWS environments.
• Demonstrated experience across GCP and Azure security services and controls.
• Experience working within highly regulated environments such as banking, financial services, insurance or government.
• Proven experience implementing cloud security controls rather than solely providing advisory services.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity, encryption and security monitoring across multi-cloud environments.
• Experience engaging with engineering, platform and DevOps teams in Agile delivery environments.
