Job summary

Nathalia Secondary College in Nathalia, VIC seeks a Secondary Classroom Teacher for Woodworks & Art (RRI 085) to deliver engaging programs across Years 7–12. The role supports VCE, VET and VCEVM / VPC offerings, with emphasis on literacy, numeracy and inclusive teaching practices.

The teacher will collaborate with families and the community within the Nathalia Learning Community and contribute to a supportive rural education environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience planning for and implementing high impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning with data to inform practice.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents and staff.
• Commitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective practice.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or program within the school.
• Undertaking other classroom teaching related duties as determined by the School Principal.
• Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings; staff meetings; camps and excursions.
• Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
