Job summary

Reddam House Sydney, part of Inspired Education Group, seeks a dedicated Secondary History & Geography Teacher to guide students from Year 7 to Year 12 in delivering high-quality instruction aligned with the NESA curriculum.

The ideal candidate will have PGCE/QTS, strong subject expertise, and a commitment to professional development within a dynamic, global school network. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract commencing Term 1, 2027.

The Secondary History & Geography Teacher at Reddam House Australia plays a pivotal role in guiding students from Year 7 to Year 12 through their critical educational journey. This role involves delivering high-quality instruction in one or more subjects aligned with the NESA curriculum.

We are seeking an exceptional Secondary Teacher with a passion for education, dedication, creativity, and outstanding experience, if that's you, This is a 12 month FIXED TERM CONTRACT commencing Term1, 2027.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Creating Engaging Lessons: Plan and deliver Middle and Senior school Geography and History lessons that inspire and challenge all students and are in line with the school's curriculum, policies, and external assessment requirements. You will individualise and differentiate learning, ensuring each student is stretched, supported, and makes outstanding progress.
• Supporting and Assessing Progress: Regularly assess students' in-class and at-home learning, providing targeted feedback to drive progress and ensure all students are challenged and supported in reaching their potential.
• Building a Positive Learning Environment: Establish a classroom and school environment where students are invested in each other's flourishing, feel valued and supported, and are ready to take risks in their learning.
• Collaborating and Sharing Best Practices: Work closely with colleagues as an active member of our learning community, sharing best practices, collaborating with colleagues, and dedicating yourself to your own professional development to ensure the highest standard of education for our students.
• Contributing to School Life: Play an active role in the school's co-curricular programme, helping to create a well-rounded, enriching educational experience. From leading clubs to contributing to whole school initiatives, you will help shape the broader life of the school.
• Collaborating with Parents: Maintain open and constructive communication with parents, building strong partnerships that support students' progress so that each child feels like an individual, well-known and respected.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• A genuine passion for education, with the ability to engage, motivate, and positively impact young people.
• A proven track record of excellence in personal, academic, and professional achievements.
• In-depth expertise in and passion for their subject and the ability to inspire students and support outstanding progress.
• Expertise in assessing student progress, providing targeted feedback, and enhancing student performance, including in external assessments.
• Experience in providing pastoral care and promoting student wellbeing, with a strong focus on individual attention and high standards of welfare.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both collaboratively with colleagues and independently and a track record of establishing strong, positive relationships with families.
• A commitment to their own continuous professional development.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills, able to plan and prioritise a varied workload, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.
• PGCE, QTS, or equivalent, with excellent academic credentials and, ideally, evidence of post-graduate study.
• Energy, enthusiasm, and a positive, flexible, and resourceful approach to working in a dynamic school environment.
