Job summary

SCEGGS Darlinghurst in inner-city Sydney is seeking an experienced Science teacher for a permanent part-time role (0.5–0.75 FTE) commencing in Term 1, 2027.

The successful applicant will have a strong knowledge of Junior Science and experience teaching Science at a senior level, with Biology experience advantageous. They should be capable of engaging girls across Years 7–12 and differentiating curriculum with varied pedagogical strategies and technology.

Qualifications

Job description

Are you a passionate teacher of Science, keen to share your love of the discipline with girls and young women in an independent inner city school?

Applications are invited from experienced Science teachers for a permanent, part-time position (0.5 – 0.75 FTE) in our Secondary School commencing in Term 1, 2027.

The successful applicant for this permanent position will have a strong knowledge and understanding of Junior Science, as well as experience teaching Science at a senior level. Experience in teaching Biology, may be an advantage. As a highly accomplished classroom teacher, they will have demonstrated success in Year 7-12 classrooms, be able to encourage, engage and inspire students, have experience in curriculum differentiation and expertise in using a range of different pedagogical strategies within the classroom, including the effective use of technology. They will be able to model the highest standards of professional skill and collaborative teaching practice and encourage students to be critical and creative thinkers and independent and self-reliant learners. The successful applicant will also be committed to the full life of the School and supportive of its Christian ethos.
