Job summary

Swan Christian College, part of Swan Christian Education Association, seeks a passionate Physical Education Teacher for the Secondary school. This is a full-time, fixed-term role for Semester 1 2027 (1 January 2027 to 25 June 2027).

You will inspire students to develop confidence, teamwork and a lifelong love of health in a Christ-centred learning environment, teaching with purpose and conviction.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and be an active member of a Christian Church.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with families and College community.
• Current Working with Children Check and TRBWA registration or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply biblical foundations underpinning College values and practices.
• Contribute to spiritual, academic, sporting, cultural and social life of the College.
• Develop and deliver engaging learning and assessment programs within a biblical framework.
• Differentiate teaching to meet diverse learning needs and foster positive outcomes.
• Provide pastoral care and maintain strong communication with students, parents and staff.
• Ensure accurate student reporting and compliance with College policies.

Founded in 1983, Swan Christian College is a co-educational Christian school in Swan Valley, educating around 1,800 students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Part of the Swan Christian Education Association, the College focuses on developing character and academic excellence with Christ-centred education that nurtures the whole child.

Swan Christian College is seeking a passionate and dedicated Physical Education Teacher to join our Secondary school teaching team. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for Semester 1 2027, from 1 January 2027 to 25 June 2027. The successful applicant will inspire students to develop confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for health and physical activity within a Christ-centred learning environment.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Understand and apply the biblical foundations underpinning the College’s values, aims, and practices.
• An enthusiastic and active contribution to the spiritual, academic, sporting, cultural and social life of the College.
• Develop and deliver engaging learning and assessment programs within a biblical framework that promote student growth and performance.
• Differentiate teaching to meet diverse learning needs and foster positive learning outcomes for all students.
• Provide pastoral care and maintain strong communication with students, parents and College staff.
• Ensure accurate student reporting and compliance with College policies and procedures.

Essential Selection Criteria:

• Demonstrates a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and is an active member of a Christian Church, living in accordance with the Association’s Statement of Faith and Educational Objectives.
• Can build and maintain strong, healthy relationships with families, SCEA Head Office staff, and the College community.
• Holds a current Working with Children Check and valid TRBWA registration or willingness to apply for one.

Desirable Selection Criteria:

• Holds a Bronze Medallion or equivalent.
