Job description

We are seeking a passionate and faith-aligned Secondary Music Teacher to join our team from Term 1, 2027 on a permanent basis.

In this role, you will inspire and engage students through a dynamic Music program while contributing to the wider life of the College.

You will:

• Teach Music across Years 7-12.
• Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned learning experiences.
• Develop students' skills in performance, music literacy, theory, composition and musicianship.
• Encourage participation in ensembles, performances, concerts and College events.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students can flourish.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student learning and wellbeing.

You are someone who:

• Has a genuine and active Christian faith, and a desire to be part of a Christ-centred learning community.
• Holds appropriate teaching qualifications and Queensland teacher registration (or is eligible for registration).
• Demonstrates strong classroom practice and a commitment to student success.
• Builds positive relationships with students, families and colleagues.
• Is a capable musician with proficiency in one or more instruments and/or voice.
• Is confident reading and interpreting music notation and teaching music literacy.
• Has experience directing, accompanying or leading ensembles, bands, choirs or performance groups.
• Is enthusiastic about contributing to the broader cultural and spiritual life of the College.

Highly desirable:

• The ability to teach a second teaching area, particularly English and/or Humanities.

Essential Requirements:

• Current Queensland teacher registration or eligibility to obtain registration.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a positive Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
• Pastoral reference (required) as part of the application process.
