Job summary

Coolum Beach Christian College is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Secondary Music Teacher to join our team on a part-time basis (0.7 FTE), reporting to the Head of Secondary. The role requires delivering engaging music lessons to secondary students and aligning learning with the Australian Curriculum.

We value faith-based education, strong classroom management, and collaborative work with colleagues to enrich the Music program.

Qualifications

• Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
• Experience teaching Music at secondary level.
• Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Commitment to professional growth and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and high-quality music lessons to Secondary students.
• Plan, prepare, and assess learning experiences aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and growth.
• Support students in developing musical skills and appreciation of music.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop the Music program and participate in College events.

Reporting to the Head of Secondary, this role will:

About You

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

• Experience teaching Music within a Secondary setting.

• Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.

• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.

• A commitment to professional growth and collaboration.

• Demonstrate a passion for teaching and a commitment to achieving positive outcomes for students

• Successful applicants starting in 2027 must be available to commence from 13th January 2027 for Induction and Professional Learning.

Essential Requirements

• Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.

• Eligible to work in Australia

• Ability to uphold and support the Christian values and mission of Coolum Beach Christian College.
