Job summary

Great Southern Grammar is seeking a Secondary Mathematics Teacher to deliver the Mathematics curriculum to secondary students at our Albany campus. You will guide learning, assess progress and foster a positive classroom environment as part of a faith-informed independent school community.

You will hold a recognised Australian teaching qualification, be registered or eligible for TRBWA, and work collaboratively with students, families and staff to support academic progress and a safe, engaging

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary teaching qualification recognised in Australia.
• Current registration, or eligibility to obtain registration, with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA).
• Demonstrated ability to teach Mathematics within a secondary school environment.
• Strong classroom management, communication and student engagement skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents and colleagues.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Working With Children Check.

Responsibilities

• Present the prescribed Mathematics curriculum to secondary school students using a range of teaching techniques and educational resources.
• Guide classroom discussions and supervise student learning activities.
• Prepare, administer and assess tests, assignments and other assessment tasks, and record student results.
• Discuss student progress and educational development with students, parents and other teaching staff.
• Maintain discipline and support a positive learning environment within the classroom and school.
• Maintain class records and other scholastic records.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development activities and school events.
• Assist with co-curricular, sporting, excursion and other student-related activities as required.
• Perform other duties consistent with the position of Secondary School Teacher.

The Role
