Said Earthmoving Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team on a full-time basis in Geelong, VIC 3220. You will safely and efficiently operate backhoe equipment across construction and civil sites, contributing to the timely completion of projects.

Qualifications

• Current backhoe operation certification.
• Minimum 5 years' demonstrable backhoe experience on construction or earthmoving sites.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to plant operation.
• Excellent spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in varying weather conditions.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Current driver's licence.
• White Card (Construction Induction).

Responsibilities

• Operate backhoe machinery safely and efficiently in accordance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Perform pre-operational inspections and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
• Excavate, load and move materials such as soil, rock and debris with precision and accuracy.
• Work in collaboration with site supervisors, surveyors and other team members to complete tasks to specification.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and machinery hours.
• Identify and report any equipment faults or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
• Adhere to site-specific instructions and safety protocols at all times.
• Assist with site setup, cleanup and general site maintenance as required.
