Job summary

Amazon Inc. in Redmond, WA is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to own design, development, and operations of scalable cloud services.

You will work in an agile team, participate in code reviews, and mentor junior engineers while delivering high-quality, maintainable code across distributed systems. You will leverage GenAI and AI-powered tooling to boost productivity, design multi-tiered architectures, and ensure reliability and cost-efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience for large systems.
• 2+ years of software development engineer or related experience.
• Experience with large-scale multi-tier distributed software.
• OO design experience and at least one programming language.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design, build, and operate innovative products and services.
• Design and develop scalable cloud-native architectures and microservices.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to documentation.
• Build and maintain resilient distributed systems that are cost-effective.
• Mentor junior engineers and work in an agile CI/CD environment.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues.
