Job summary

St Vincent's Health Australia in Sydney is seeking a Scrub/Scout Registered Nurse for a casual position in the Nolan Theaters, The Mater Hospital, North Sydney. The role requires AHPRA registration and a Bachelor’s in Nursing with recent scrub/scout experience in cardiac, vascular or orthopaedic cases.

You will work within a multidisciplinary operating theatre team, providing patient-centered care, maintaining confidentiality and contributing to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing is required.
• Valid AHPRA registration is required.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and deliver patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients undergoing complex surgical procedures.
• Work as Scrub or Scout RN in the operating theatre team.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, VMOs and nursing colleagues.
• Maintain communication with patients, visitors and staff.
• Maintain patient and staff confidentiality at all times.
• Support a culture of safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Comply with Department of Health, WHS and infection control standards.
• On-call commitments may be required, including occasional nights/weekends.

Role Title: Perioperative Registered Nurse, Scrub/Scout

Role Type: Casual

Department and location: Nolan Theaters, The Mater Hospital, North Sydney

Salary: 41.58-58.40 AUD base per hour + super

Shift details: No routine weekend or night shifts, on call opportunities depending on specialties

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional patient-centered care to patients undergoing complex surgical procedures.
• Work effectively as a Scrub or Scout RN within a multidisciplinary operating theatre team.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, VMOs, allied health professionals and nursing colleagues.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, visitors, colleagues and other stakeholders.
• Ensure patient and staff confidentiality is always maintained.
• Contribute to a culture of safety, teamwork, respect and continuous improvement.
• Maintain compliance with relevant Department of Health requirements, Work Health and Safety standards and infection prevention and control practices.
• This position offers an attractive work-life balance with One RDO per month, published 14 days in advance.
• Some on-call commitments for your specialty will be required, including occasional nights and weekends. Voluntary additional on-call opportunities may also be available.

About You

• Valid AHPRA registration.
• Bachelor's in nursing.
• Current or recent Cardiac, Vascular, Orthopaedic and/or Neurosurgical scrub/scout experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
