Job summary

Matrix Education is hiring Science Teachers for Chemistry and Physics at our Box Hill campus. Classes run after school from 4:30pm on weekdays and from 9:00am on weekends, with resources provided.

You will join a diverse team including school staff and university professionals, in a modern, collaborative environment. You’ll deliver regular weekly classes, monitor progress with quizzes, and identify students needing extra mentoring, while leveraging a genuine passion for teaching and strong

Qualifications

• Must have a genuine passion for teaching.
• Previous experience teaching VCE Chemistry and/or Physics in a classroom setting.
• Extensive knowledge of the current VCE science curriculum.
• Degree in Education, Science, Engineering or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Teach regular weekly classes throughout the academic term.
• Monitor student progress through short weekly quizzes.
• Flag struggling students to academic team leaders for mentoring.

Matrix Education is now hiring Science Teachers across Chemistry and Physics to join us at our Box Hill campus.

• From $63/hour + Superannuation
• New term starts 5 October 2026

This role is ideal for anyone who is a subject matter expert who can explain things clearly and is passionate about their area of expertise! Our team is a diverse group of high school teachers, corporate professionals, university teaching staff and post graduate candidates and students.

Classes are available after school from 4:30pm on weekdays or from 9:00am on weekends at our convenient locations, which are easily accessible via public transport.

You will have the opportunity to work with a fun and talented team in a great work environment. Minimal lesson preparation is required as lessons and resources are provided for you.

What You'll Do...

• Teaching regular weekly classes throughout the academic school term,
• Ongoing monitoring of student's academic progress through marking of short weekly quizzes,
• Flagging of struggling students to academic team leaders for additional academic mentoring.

What You'll Need...

• A genuine passion for teaching,
• Previous experience teaching VCE Chemistry and/or Physics in a classroom setting
• Have extensive knowledge of the current VCE curriculum in science
• Have completed their degree in Education, Science, Engineering or a related discipline
