Job summary

Knox Grammar School's Preparatory Campus is seeking a passionate Science Teacher for a permanent part-time 0.4 FTE role commencing in Term 1, 2027. The role involves teaching across three days, with start around 10:30am and finish by 3:00pm, contributing to a hands-on science program that inspires curiosity.

You will hold relevant teaching qualifications and current NESA accreditation, using diverse teaching strategies and collaborating with colleagues to plan, implement and assess learning.

Qualifications

• Must hold teaching qualifications and current NESA accreditation.

• Create a stimulating, supportive and challenging learning environment where students feel empowered to explore, question and discover.
• Utilise effective classroom management practices that foster positive learning outcomes.
• Deep understanding of the K-6 NESA Science and Technology syllabus and its application within an integrated curriculum.
• Ability to work with new NESA syllabuses and design high-quality, engaging units of work.
• Ability to collaborate with classroom teachers to plan, implement, assess and report on learning programs.
• First Aid and CPR certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Teach a 0.4 load across three days (Wednesday to Friday) starting at approximately 10:30am and concluding at 3:00pm.
• Deliver science lessons across the K-6 program aligned to the NESA Science and Technology syllabus.
• Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to explore and discover.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan, implement, assess and report on learning programs.
• Maintain student wellbeing and safety with First Aid/CPR as a desirable qualification.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Knox Grammar School is an independent, multi-campus Kindergarten to Year 12 day and boarding school for boys, located at Wahroonga on Sydney’s North Shore. In addition to the single-sex campuses, Knox also operates Wahroonga Preparatory School, a co-educational campus for students Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6.

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Knox Grammar School's Preparatory Campus for a passionate and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join our dedicated team in a permanent part time (0.4 FTE) position commencing in Term 1, 2027.

This role offers the opportunity to inspire curiosity, creativity and a love of learning through engaging and hands-on science experiences. Working closely with colleagues, you will help nurture each student's natural sense of wonder while fostering the skills and confidence needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.

The successful candidate will teach a 0.4 load across three days, from Wednesday to Friday each week. Hours will include commencing at approximately 10:30am or later, and concluding at 3:00pm each Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
