Job summary

Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia) is seeking experienced School Support Officers to provide school-based support across five days per week, with casual roles also available. This role focuses on helping students with autism to set and achieve learning and wellbeing goals.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to tailor learning programs, develop expertise in autism education, and support smooth transitions for students across settings. Positions include term-time only and casual hours.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students on the autism spectrum or other intellectual disability is desirable.
• Experience implementing Individual Learning Plans.
• Knowledge of transitioning students into mainstream settings.
• Certificate III in Education Support or other relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.
• A current driver's licence may be essential depending on location.
• Light Rigid LR driver's licence is desirable.
• Capacity to travel across all sites in the area.
• South Australian Working with Children Check is required.
• RRHAN-EC mandatory notification training certificate.
• International police check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Work with students and families to identify learning goals and build capacity to succeed.
• Collaborate with school psychologist, speech therapists and occupational therapists to deliver quality learning programs.
• Create learning environments tailored to individual needs using evidence-informed best practice.
• Support students to achieve education and wellbeing goals.

Job Description

• Permanent, ongoing opportunities for experienced School Support Officers(5 days per week)

You will help create a learning environment that tailors to the individual needs of students through evidence informed best practice in autism. You will work closely in a team with other professionals such as our school psychologist, speech therapists and occupational therapists to develop and deliver quality learning programs.

• Experience working with students on the autism spectrum or other intellectual disability (desirable)

• Certificate III in Education Support or other relevant tertiary qualification (desirable)
• Depending on the school's location/requirements it may be essential to have a current driver's licence (per relevant state legislation)
• A Light Rigid (LR) driver's licence (desirable)
• Capacity to travel across all sites in the area

• RRHAN-EC mandatory notification training certificate
• You may be required to provide an international policecheck
• Part-time, ongoing positions (school term time only) $32.70per hour+ superannuation
• Casual hourly rate is $48.44per hour + superannuation
