Job summary

Hallam Primary School in Melbourne is seeking a School Psychologist to strengthen wellbeing and engagement programs, provide early intervention counselling and collaborate with the Allied Health team and school leadership to support student mental health.

You will lead whole-school mental health initiatives, build staff capability, coordinate supports for students with complex needs and work with regional health services to engage further support as required.

Qualifications

• Evidence-based mental health promotion and early intervention approaches.
• Experience in inputting into development and evaluation of wellbeing processes.
• Direct counselling support for students with a range of mental health needs.

Responsibilities

• Enhance mental health prevention and promotion activities in the school.
• Provide early intervention services (including short-term counselling).
• Coordinate supports for students with complex needs with external services as appropriate.
• Manage the delivery of support services to students, teachers, parents and other school clients.
• Ensure all external providers deliver the required service.
