Working with Mid North Coast Community College (MNCCC) offers a unique opportunity to further the success of our special assistance school in Port Macquarie.

Our OOSHC provides a fun and tailored program for primary school children each afternoon within school terms.

Primary Purpose of Role

The Bus Driver is a vital member of the team.

The College is seeking an experienced and qualified bus driver to join its transport team for the afternoon OOSHC school run.

This position is for a minimum of 10 hours per week, with 2 hours per afternoon from 2.30pm to 4.30pm during school terms, and optional extra hours available for events during school holidays.

This opportunity is for an immediate start, five days per week.

The successful applicant must possess a strong work ethic, experience in guiding children, and a proven ability to think and work independently.

A Light Rigid (LR) driver's licence or a Medium Rigid (MR) driver's licence is desirable.

The successful applicant must hold a NSW Working with Children Check and fully support the ethos of the College.

Key accountabilities

  • Transport students daily from school to the centre, plus excursions and optional excursions during school holidays, in accordance with our code of practice and operating policies and procedures.
  • Support information collection processes to allow others to evaluate and provide feedback on school-based wellbeing programs and strategies.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bus and report maintenance requirements.

Current driver's licence (LR or MR preferred or willing to obtain).

Commitment to our inclusive wellbeing policies.

Valid and current Working With Children Check (WWCC).

First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Bus drivers and general assistants are remunerated for school terms, with additional pay during scheduled projects in non-term time.

Negotiable start date, subject to notice period, reporting to the Children's Educational Services Manager.
