Job summary

Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) is seeking a Maintenance Worker to service school buildings and grounds across the South East Sydney area. The role covers repair, routine maintenance and general upkeep, with responsibilities including locks, lighting, and equipment upkeep, as well as support for improvement projects.

The position offers hourly rate and annual salary in a not-for-profit setting, with superannuation and benefits, and requires a NSW driving licence and ability to work in a team.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance of grounds/buildings.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing and general trade maintenance.
• Understanding of machinery/equipment operation.
• Ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team.
• Own tools required.
• Current driver's licence and use of own vehicle.
• NSW Working with Children Check for paid employment.

Responsibilities

• Undertake repair/maintenance work to school buildings (e.g. replacing locks, windows & light bulbs, patching holes, woodwork repairs).
• Perform routine maintenance of equipment.
• Estimate repair costs and document repairs undertaken.
• Handle, store, and distribute goods/materials.
• Move equipment/furniture as required.
• Upkeep school grounds (e.g. mowing, pruning, weeding, planting, disposing of litter).
• Assist with school improvement projects (e.g. fencing, paving, gardening).
• Drive school vehicles as required for registration inspections, repairs and servicing.
