Job summary

Maramba Primary School is seeking an education support class staff member to contribute to maintenance of the school grounds and facilities. The role involves routine maintenance, minor repairs, and hands-on gardening to keep outdoor spaces safe and visually appealing.

The successful applicant will have grounds maintenance experience, knowledge of plant care and WHS practices, and the ability to work with staff and contractors within a school setting. A Working with Children Check is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture, landscaping or related area.
• Sound knowledge of plant care, pruning, weeding, mulching, seasonal planting and garden upkeep.
• WHS principles apply to grounds maintenance and equipment use.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs across school buildings and outdoor infrastructure.
• Maintain garden beds, trees and shrubs with pruning, weeding and mulching.
• Plan and undertake seasonal garden maintenance and turnover of beds.
• Keep work areas, equipment, and storage spaces clean, organised and safe.
• Identify hazards and safety concerns and report them promptly.
