Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a part-time School Crossing Supervisor for Northbridge Public School in Sydney. You’ll work at the crossing during school hours and help keep kids safe, while engaging with families and the local community.

The role is on-site with 25 hours per fortnight and includes training, uniforms and safety equipment. Applicants must be 18+ and obtain required checks before appointment.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older at time of appointment.
• Working with Children Check, Reference Checks, Police Check, and Health Assessment are required.
• Training, uniforms and equipment will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Supervise school crossings during peak hours (8:00–9:30 and 2:45–3:45, Monday to Friday).
• Promote safety for children, parents, teachers and motorists and be a friendly, visible presence in the community.
• Complete pre-employment checks when required and comply with all safety policies.

School Crossing Supervisor - Part time - Northbridge Public School

In this Role, you'll

Become a Road Safety Hero that is held in very high esteem in our communities and vital to the safety of our kids, parents, teachers, and local motorists. You'll also grow to be a much-loved familiar face around the school with a unique opportunity to touch the lives of countless families.

Northbridge Public School shifts fall between the school zone hours of 8:00AM - 9:30AM and 2:45PM - 3:45PM, Monday to Friday, with 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon. School Crossings require 25 hours of supervising per fortnight.

You will receive an hourly rate along with superannuation, and you will also be compensated during school holidays from Terms 1 to 3.

About you

You're a community minded person who would like to contribute.

You'd get a kick out of making community relationships, keeping kids safe whilst earning a weekly wage for doing something you love and enjoy.

You're reliable and prepared to show up for your community - in good or bad weather.

You’ll display effective communication skills and be alert to potential dangers.

Applicants must be 18 years of age at the time of appointment. All training, uniforms and equipment will be provided. And one more thing! As you'll be working with children on our roads, your willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check, Reference Checks, Police Check, and a Health Assessment is vital. Don't worry if you haven't done this before, we will help you through the process! If you already have a Working with Children Check, that's fantastic as that will speed up the process.
