Job summary

Flinders Christian Community College – Carrum VIC is seeking a Student Wellbeing Practitioner/Youth Worker. This 0.8 FTE role is based at the Carrum Downs campus and carries pro‑rata salary with super. You will support student wellbeing, apply youth work and social work theories, and collaborate with staff and families.

The role focuses on engagement, preventative practices, and holistic development within a Christian education context, in a program aimed at helping students thrive.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of tertiary qualification in Youth Work or Social Work.
• Proven understanding of mental health considerations and inclusive practices.
• Ability to engage young people and collaborate with staff and families.
• Experience applying youth work or social work theories in an educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Support engagement of young people and facilitate proactive preventive practices for wellbeing.
• Provide guidance to staff and families to assist students’ personal development.
• Contribute to the Waymaker Centre programs and ensure a positive learning environment.
