Job summary

Gre8 is seeking a School Based Regional Manager to oversee around 12 school sites in the East and South region. You will be the primary point of contact for schools, host sites, supervisors, trainees and families, and you will lead the site supervisors who run day‑to‑day operations.

This hands‑on leadership role focuses on building supervisor capability, ensuring safe, compliant workplaces, keeping trainees engaged with meaningful commercial work, and supporting every young person to succeed.

• Ensure safety and compliance with WHS and Victorian standards.
• Plan and schedule commercial work to provide consistent trainee hours.
• Identify new site opportunities and develop them with the General Manager.
• Support trainee welfare and respond to wellbeing concerns.
• Report monthly on site performance and regional results.

About the role

As School Based Regional Manager, you'll be accountable for the safe, compliant and well-supported running of every Gre8 school-based site in the East and South region, around 12 sites in total. You'll be Gre8's main point of contact for schools, host sites, supervisors, trainees and their families, and you'll lead the site supervisors who make it all happen day to day.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll build supervisor capability so every site can run safely and confidently, keep trainees engaged in meaningful commercial work, and make sure every young person in your region has the support they need to succeed. You'll report to the School Based General Manager and work alongside a second Regional Manager covering the other region.

What you'll be doing

• Leading, coaching and holding accountable a team of site supervisors, including regular one-to-ones, quarterly performance conversations and a monthly regional operations meeting
• Building strong relationships with principals, VET and careers coordinators, Head Start coordinators, Apprentice Connect Australia Providers, host site managers, NFI and families
• Overseeing recruitment, onboarding and compliance for trainees and supervisors, including Working with Children Checks and inductions
• Setting up new sites and keeping existing ones safe, resourced and compliant with WHS obligations and the Victorian Child Safe Standards
• Planning and scheduling commercial work across sites so trainees have consistent, productive hours and customers receive quality work on time
• Identifying new work and host site opportunities and developing them with the General Manager
• Supporting trainee welfare, attendance and conduct, and responding promptly to any wellbeing or safeguarding concerns
• Reporting monthly on site performance, trainee hours and regional results

You're an experienced operations leader who thrives on keeping multiple sites running well, and you genuinely care about young people getting a fair start. You're organised, calm under pressure and comfortable holding people to clear standards while supporting them to grow.

Essential

• Experience managing operations across multiple sites or programs, including direct people management
• Proven ability to build supervisors' capability and hold them accountable to documented processes
• Solid working knowledge of work health and safety obligations in an operational setting
• Strong relationship-building skills with schools, employers and partner organisations
• Ability to work effectively with young people, including young people with disability, and their families
• Current Working with Children Check (Victoria), National Police Check and Victorian driver licence

Desirable

• Experience with SBATs, vocational education, employment services or group training
• A qualification in business, operations, WHS or community services
• First aid certification
