Job summary

Rutherglen High School in north-east Victoria is seeking an experienced Education Support Class Level 1 Range 4 professional to contribute to student wellbeing and learning. The role focuses on mental health prevention, early intervention, and support for students with complex needs, with autonomy and professional guidance.

You will deliver short-term counselling, collaborate with families and health professionals, and help implement whole-school wellbeing plans in line with Victorian government

Qualifications

• Qualified as psychologist, social worker, mental health nurse, occupational therapist or counsellor.
• Demonstrated direct counselling experience.
• Registration with AHPRA, AASW or ACA/PACFA where applicable.
• Current Working With Children Check.

Responsibilities

• Providing advice and professional learning to others to improve student wellbeing and outcomes.
• Delivering mental health prevention, promotion and early intervention activities for students.
• Planning and implementing intervention strategies for students with complex needs with families and agencies.
• Liaising with departments and external providers to support students.
• Maintaining professional development and ensuring compliance with privacy and consent.
