Position Information

The NSW Department of Education provides, funds and regulates education services for NSW students from early childhood to secondary school, delivering world-class education through its public schools and providing funding support to non-government schools.

About the Role

A School Administrative Officer provides administrative, financial and student welfare/wellbeing support and assistance in relation to office and classroom activities.

Essential Requirements

  • Working with Children Check Clearance
  • First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake First Aid training.
  • Administration of Medications – training to be provided based on student needs.

The successful applicants will join the foundation SASS team of Gledswood Hills High School.

The school opened in 2025 for year 7 students only. In 2026, year 7 and 8 students will be at the school. Currently, the school is on a temporary site, shared with Gregory Hills Public School. We will move to a permanent site of 9 Gregory Hills Drive, Gledswood Hills in 2027 where year 9 students will join the school. The first HSC cohort will be in 2030.

Within a typical work week, the successful SAO applicants will be expected to work across a variety of school settings including but not limited to the following: the office, sick bay, library, science laboratory, and food technology/kitchen areas.

Specific Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Administration skills including a knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with teachers and students.
  • Ability to perform tasks in one or more of the following areas: office procedures; accounting procedures; sick bay; hospitality and /or design and technology; science.
