Akkodis is seeking an experienced Scheduling & Control Lead to shape enterprise scheduling and project controls across a large transformation portfolio. You will lead a team of schedulers, establish governance, and partner with senior stakeholders to improve delivery confidence.

The role reports into an Enterprise PMO and offers a hybrid work model with locations across multiple Australian cities. Apply your deep scheduling expertise to drive program success and informed decision-making.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years in project scheduling and controls environments.
  • Experience leading scheduling functions across complex portfolios.
  • Proven ability to mentor scheduling teams and drive governance.
  • Strong expertise in EVM and change control frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the enterprise scheduling and controls function across a transformation portfolio
  • Establish and embed best-practice scheduling, forecasting and project controls methodologies
  • Develop and mentor a team of project schedulers
  • Manage complex program dependency management
  • Drive EVM, schedule performance measurement and forecasting
  • Establish baseline management and change control across projects
  • Monitor schedule quality and governance compliance
  • Provide executive-level reporting and insights
  • Support resource demand forecasting and capacity planning
  • Collaborate with governance, assurance, resource management and delivery teams
  • Drive continuous improvement in scheduling and project controls

Role - Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Scheduling & Control Lead to drive enterprise scheduling capability, strengthen project controls governance, and provide strategic insights that support successful portfolio delivery.

Reporting within an Enterprise PMO environment, you will lead the scheduling function across a large transformation portfolio, establishing best-practice planning, forecasting, dependency management and project controls disciplines. You will work closely with Portfolio Leads, Program Managers, Project Managers and executive stakeholders to improve delivery confidence, schedule performance and decision-making.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project controls professional who combines strong leadership capability with deep expertise in project scheduling, forecasting and portfolio governance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the enterprise scheduling and controls function across a transformation portfolio
  • Establish and embed best-practice scheduling, forecasting and project controls methodologies
  • Manage and develop a team of project schedulers, ensuring capability growth and delivery excellence
  • Develop integrated schedules and support complex program dependency management
  • Drive Earned Value Management (EVM), schedule performance measurement and forecasting practices
  • Establish baseline management and change control processes across projects and programs
  • Monitor schedule quality and ensure compliance with governance standards and methodologies
  • Provide executive-level reporting, schedule insights and delivery performance analysis
  • Support resource demand forecasting and capacity planning across project portfolios
  • Collaborate with governance, assurance, resource management and delivery teams
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across scheduling and project controls functions
  • Provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders on project delivery performance and risks
Required Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in project scheduling, planning and project controls environments
  • Demonstrated experience leading scheduling functions across complex programs or portfolios
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring scheduling or project controls teams
  • Strong expertise in Earned Value Management (EVM), dependency management and schedule performance analysis
  • Experience with baseline management, integrated change control and project governance frameworks
  • Strong understanding of resource-loaded scheduling, resource forecasting and capacity planning
  • Experience developing integrated master schedules and managing cross-program dependencies
  • Knowledge of project delivery methodologies including PMBoK, Agile and MSP
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to provide meaningful delivery insights
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, influencing and communication skills
  • Experience working within Enterprise PMO, portfolio delivery or transformation environments
  • Strong data analysis and numerical modelling capability
Qualifications & Clearance
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Business or a related discipline
  • PMI-SP, AACE PSP or similar scheduling accreditation highly regarded
  • Professional experience within large infrastructure, aviation, government or enterprise transformation environments highly regarded
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within project, program or portfolio delivery functions preferred
