Job summary

UGL is seeking an experienced Scaffolding Supervisor to lead scaffold operations on Curtis Island for the APLNG maintenance team. You will provide leadership, coordinate resources and drive safety performance to ensure work is executed in line with site requirements and industry best practices.

You will develop work packs, coordinate materials, manage permits and risk assessments, and work closely with planners, maintenance teams and client stakeholders to deliver high-quality maintenance

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' supervisory experience in oil & gas, LNG, petrochemical or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Advanced Scaffolding Licence (SA) required.
  • Strong knowledge of permit-to-work systems and safe work practices.
  • Demonstrated experience leading crews in safety-critical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise scaffolding personnel for safe and productive execution of all work activities.
  • Develop and review work packs, scopes, estimates and execution plans for scaffolding activities.
  • Prepare and review SWMS, JSERAs, permits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with site safety requirements.
  • Coordinate scaffold materials, tooling, consumables and equipment to ensure work readiness.
  • Liaise with planners and schedulers to identify schedule risks, opportunities and critical path activities.
  • Review drawings and technical documentation to support scope development and execution planning.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, pre-start meetings, debriefs and regular safety interactions.
  • Manage workforce performance, quality standards and daily work execution activities.
  • Coordinate activities with contractors and other workgroups to deliver integrated maintenance outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned across the scaffolding function.

We are seeking an experienced Scaffolding Supervisor to join our APLNG maintenance team on Curtis Island. Reporting to the Project Superintendent, this role is responsible for leading scaffold operations, coordinating resources, driving safety performance, and ensuring work is executed in accordance with site requirements and industry best practice.

About The Role

As the Scaffolding Supervisor, you will provide leadership and technical expertise to the scaffolding workgroup while supporting planning, scheduling and execution activities across the site. You will work closely with planners, maintenance teams, contractors and client stakeholders to ensure scaffolding work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining operational readiness, developing work packs, coordinating materials and resources, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across scaffolding operations.

Key Responsibilities

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong leadership capability combined with extensive scaffolding experience within major industrial environments.

You Will Ideally Possess
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a supervisory role within the oil & gas, LNG, petrochemical or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Advanced Scaffolding Licence (SA).
  • Strong knowledge of permit-to-work systems and safe work practices.
  • Demonstrated experience leading crews and managing work execution within a safety-critical environment.
  • Working at Heights, Confined Space and Elevated Work Platform qualifications highly regarded.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience reviewing technical documentation, work packs and maintenance scopes.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and experience working with site-based systems and reporting tools.
  • Commitment to safety leadership, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
