Job summary

Medibank is seeking a mid-level ABAP consultant to join a collaborative SAP team in Melbourne. You will develop, enhance and integrate SAP solutions across Medibank's SAP landscape, delivering high-quality technical solutions and supporting production systems.

You will work closely with functional consultants and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs, participate in reviews, and promote best practices including Test-Driven Development and modern SAP development

Qualifications

• ABAP programming with OO concepts and SAP ECC6 or S/4HANA experience.
• Experience creating RFC, BAPI, WRICEF objects, User Exits and BADI's.
• Knowledge of FS-PM (Policy Management) or CRM is a plus.
• Willingness to learn PHI-related module.
• Production support experience including job monitoring and queue monitoring.
• Strong debugging skills to diagnose SAP issues.
• Experience in SAP integration using RFCs, Proxy, Webservices and oData.
• Translate functional specs into SAP ABAP technical specs.

• Work with stakeholders to develop, test and deploy production fixes.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for fixes and technical changes.
• Assist business in articulating new requirements and translating to technical solutions.
• Translate functional requirements into SAP ABAP technical specifications.

The SAP Technical Consultant is responsible for the development, enhancement, integration and support of SAP solutions across Medibank's SAP landscape. Working closely with functional consultants, business stakeholders and senior technical resources, the role delivers high-quality technical solutions, resolves production issues, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives using SAP development and integration technologies.

This role is specifically for a mid-level ABAP consultant that has a desire to work in a highly collaborative & supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop technical specifications and contribute to solution designs aligned with Medibank standards and architecture principles.
• Participate in peer reviews, quality assurance activities and knowledge-sharing initiatives across the SAP practice.
• Collaborate with SAP functional and technical team members to deliver solutions that integrate effectively across SAP and non-SAP platforms.
• Ensure technical solutions are developed in accordance with agreed standards, quality expectations and integration requirements.
• Continually grow technical expertise and promote development best practices, including Test-Driven Development, coding standards and modern SAP development approaches.
• Provide production support for Medibank SAP systems.
• Perform issue identification, analysis, troubleshooting and resolution.
• Work collaboratively with functional consultants, system analysts and business stakeholders to develop, test and deploy production fixes.
  Identify areas for system improvement, optimisation and enhancement.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for production fixes, support activities and technical changes.
• Perform unit testing and support system integration and user acceptance testing activities where required.
• Participate in post-incident reviews, contributing to root cause analysis, corrective actions and lessons learned.
• Deliver SAP programs to support projects.
• To assist business colleagues in articulating and documenting new business requirements and translating them into effective information technology solutions.
• Work with functional consultants and system analysts to translate functional requirements into technical solution.

About You

• Excellent knowledge of ABAP programming language including Object Oriented concepts.
• Demonstrated experience with the creation of RFC, BAPI, WRICEF objects, User Exits and BADI’s within an ECC6 environment and or S/4 HANA
• Knowledge and working experience on SAP FS-PM(Policy Management) system or CRM is added advantage.
• Ability and willingness to learn and work in PHI related module.
• Experience in production support activities including background job monitoring, queue monitoring, etc.
• Strong debugging skills to analyse issues and find solutions in existing SAP systems.
• Experience in integration within and outside SAP systems using RFCs, Proxy, Webservices and oData development.
• Translate functional specifications into SAP ABAP technical specifications.

Nice to have

Experience working with UI5/Fiori on SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA.
