Davidson Technology is recruiting an SAP ABAP Developer to support the Central Pharmacy Future State project in Brisbane/Richlands. You will translate complex requirements into scalable SAP solutions, focusing on ABAP RAP, CDS Views, OData, and S/4HANA enhancements.

You will work with a delivery team, ensure code quality, and participate in unit testing, documentation, and knowledge transfer to build enduring SAP capability within the department.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience contributing to complex SAP implementations with strong S/4HANA development expertise.
• Comprehensive knowledge of SAP BTP services and architecture.
• Hands-on development across ABAP, RAP, BADI, BAPI, IDOC, Fiori, SAPUI5, Web IDE, JavaScript, HTML5, Adobe Forms and BTP Forms by Adobe Services.

Responsibilities

About the Company

Davidson Technology are working with a State Government Department to secure multiple SAP ABAP Developers to work as part of a specialist Future State project. The contracts range in length from 11-months to 14-0months located either in Brisbane or Richlands.

About the Role

As an SAP ABAP Developer, you will work as part of a specialist delivery team supporting the department's Central Pharmacy Future State (CPFS) Project, helping deliver a modern enterprise platform that supports WMS, ERP and the future operating model of the new Central Pharmacy facility. You will assess and enhance the existing SAP S/4HANA environment, translating complex functional and business requirements into scalable, maintainable and upgrade-safe technical solutions aligned with SAP clean-core principles. You will design and develop in-app, developer and side-by-side extensions using technologies including ABAP RAP, CDS Views, released APIs, SAP BTP, CAP, SAP Fiori and SAPUI5, while developing OData services and HANA data models and integrating SAP and non-SAP systems through BTP Integration Suite, Extension Suite and Identity Services. Working closely with functional consultants, business stakeholders and technical teams, you will deliver assigned development milestones, undertake unit testing, manage changes across development, test and production environments, troubleshoot post-implementation issues and conduct code and specification reviews to ensure performance, security and quality standards are maintained. You will also proactively identify opportunities to improve application performance, user experience and development practices, maintain comprehensive technical documentation, and transfer knowledge to departmental employees to build sustainable internal SAP capability.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally bring 7-10 years of experience contributing to complex, large-scale SAP implementations, with strong SAP S/4HANA development expertise and comprehensive knowledge of SAP BTP services and architecture. You will demonstrate hands‑on development capability across ABAP, RAP Business Objects, BADI, BAPI, IDOC, SAP Fiori configuration and extensions, SAPUI5, SAP Web IDE, JavaScript, HTML5, Adobe Forms and BTP Forms by Adobe Services, together with experience supporting RF mobile data entry solutions. You will possess strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to assess complex supply chain requirements, develop and communicate technical solution options, and translate these into fit‑for‑purpose system and process improvements supported by high‑quality technical specifications. You will have a sound understanding of contemporary integration approaches and service‑oriented architecture, while bringing a collaborative approach to knowledge sharing and developing team capability. Experience within complex government, healthcare or pharmaceutical environments and SAP development exposure across FI/CO, MM, SD and particularly Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) will be highly regarded, alongside SAP S/4HANA and BTP certifications.
