Job summary

Programmed Maintenance Services – Clayton VIC is seeking reliable Sanitation / Production Packers with a forklift Licence for an immediate start. This casual ongoing opportunity offers early morning shifts from 1:00am to 6:00am at a busy food manufacturing facility in Clayton.

Successful candidates will combine sanitation and production packing duties, with initial familiarisation before progressing to sanitation and packing tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience in a food production/manufacturing environment.
• Forklift licence or basic forklift experience.
• Ability to work early morning shifts (1:00am–6:00am).
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Physically fit for manual handling.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Sanitation of production equipment and machinery.
• Packing products from conveyor lines into boxes.
• Feeding materials into production lines.
• Palletising products when required.

About the Role

This position combines sanitation and production packing duties within a food manufacturing environment.

Successful applicants will initially assist in becoming familiar with the facility before progressing into sanitation and packing tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Sanitation Duties

• Moving bins throughout the facility
• Cleaning and sanitising production equipment and machinery
• Using approved cleaning chemicals safely and effectively
• Disassembling and cleaning silos and production equipment
• Maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards
• Assisting on packing lines as required

Production & Packing Duties

• Packing products from conveyor lines into boxes and tote bins
• Monitoring product quality and presentation
• Feeding materials into production lines
• Working alongside team members to meet production targets
• Palletising products where required
• General production and housekeeping duties

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• Previous experience in a food production or manufacturing environment
• Ability to work safely with cleaning chemicals
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
• A strong work ethic and reliable attendance
• Physical fitness to undertake manual handling tasks
• Basic forklift experience highly regarded
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Site Requirements

For food safety and hygiene compliance, all employees must:

• Wear clean steel-capped boots
• Bring their own safety glasses
• Complete site inductions prior to commencing
• Wear hair nets, beard nets (where applicable) and hearing protection at all times
• Adhere to site grooming and hygiene requirements, including:
  • No jewellery
  • No false eyelashes
  • No fake nails

Site uniforms, including pants and jumpers, will be provided.
