Subway Capalaba is hiring a Junior Sandwich Artist™ for a temporary/casual role. You’ll prepare and serve sandwiches, greet guests and deliver friendly service. Training is provided as you start a career in the fast‑paced food industry.

A winning attitude and willingness to learn are essential, with opportunities to grow into supervisory roles. No prior experience is required; previous work in retail or hospitality is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food preparation, retail sales or customer service is desirable.
• Full training will be provided.
• Excellent presentation and teamwork are valued.

Responsibilities

• Maintain food storage and preparation areas according to Health & Safety standards.
• Operate the till and handle transactions accurately.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with cleaning schedules.
• Follow security and safety procedures to keep the workplace safe.
• Deliver high standards of service to customers and maintain Subway brand quality.

Job Introduction

Previous experience in food preparation, retail sales and/or customer service is desirable but not essential because you will receive full training and undertake various University of Subway® courses. What’s more important is a winning attitude. If you’re currently working in retail or in a restaurant, perhaps you are studying or have recently graduated and are looking to start a career in the food industry. This could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure food storage and preparation areas are maintained according to Health & Safety and Audit standards
• Comply with Food Code of Practice
• Till Operator
• Monitoring stock levels
• Complete daily and weekly cleaning schedules
• Follow security & safety procedures
• Maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers
• Maintain high personal presentation in the provided uniform to meet the Subway® brand and customer expectations
• Work as a team member
• Deliver a high standard of service when dealing with products, sales and catering for customer needs.
