Job summary

Chelsea Yacht Club in Melbourne seeks passionate and experienced Sailing Instructors (Dinghies) to join us for the busy summer season (and beyond). The roles are predominantly Weekend and School Holiday roles, offering you the opportunity to share your expertise and inspire the next generation of sailors in our Tacker program, Adult learn to sail SS1, SS2 and Better Sailing or windsurfing.

Qualifications

• Proven sailing instructor experience, especially dinghy sailing.
• Excellent teaching and interpersonal skills to engage students.
• Current motor boat license and First Aid certification.
• Relevant sailing qualifications or certifications and WWCC.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality sailing instruction for beginners to intermediates on Port Philip Bay.
• Maintain a safe and enjoyable learning environment for all participants.
• Maintain and care for sailing equipment and facilities.
• Assist in planning and delivering sailing programs and events.
• Contribute to growth and development of the sailing community.

Chelsea Yacht Club - based on the Long Beach of Melbourne’s Port Philip Bay are seeking passionate and experienced Sailing Instructors (Dinghies) to join us for the busy summer season (and beyond)

What you will be doing:

• Provide high-quality sailing instruction to students ranging from beginners (learn to sail), through intermediate (learn to race) on the beautiful Port Philip bay
• Ensure a safe and enjoyable learning environment for all participants
• Maintain and care for the sailing equipment and facilities
• Assist in the planning and delivery of sailing programs and events
• Contribute to the overall growth and development of our sailing community

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience as a sailing instructor, preferably in a dinghy sailing environment
• Excellent teaching and interpersonal skills to encourage students
• Motor boat license
• Current First Aid certificate
• Relevant sailing qualifications or certifications
• Current working with children check

Summary of role requirements:

• People who are willing to work casually but are available each Saturday Oct -April and all the school Holiday’s
• Expected start date for role: 4th October 2025
• Expected salary: $30 - $40 per hour
