Job summary

Whitehaven Coal is seeking an experienced Safety Specialist (Process) to support risk management, event classification, auditing and coaching across the site’s CHPP operations. The role emphasizes automation of safety dashboards and frontline communication, based at the Blackwater mine in Queensland.

You will bring formal safety qualifications and at least 2 years in safety, with Isometrix proficiency and ICAM experience.

Qualifications

• Formal safety qualification (Diploma/ Bachelor/ Honours)
• At least 2 years’ experience in safety, preferably mining
• Proficiency in data analysis, reporting and Isometrix
• ICAM/investigation facilitation support
• Knowledge of Safety & Health practices

Responsibilities

• Engage in development and implementation of risk, health and wellbeing strategies and programs.
• Work with CHPP (Coal Handling and Processing Plant).
• Monitor and report on S&H performance data with dashboards for frontline.
• Support operational areas on measures, metrics, and analytical tools for safety reporting and incident management.
• Develop and distribute reports on safety/health measures from the site access system.
• Support and monitor training in WHC360 safety reporting system.
• Monitor site leaders in data reporting and event classification.
• Serve as site administrator for the WHC360 system.
