Bunnings is seeking a hands-on Safety Operations Manager who will work closely with Retail Leaders to shape and deliver a comprehensive safety strategy. You will balance field presence with coaching, using data and insights to strengthen risk controls and integrate national safety programmes across the division.
You will lead a Safety Business Partner and drive life-threatening risk reduction, with autonomy to prioritise work and make practical improvements in busy store environments.
Join us and experience Bunnings from the other side of the counter! What’s in it for you when you’re part of our team:
This is a hands‑on safety leadership role where you’ll spend meaningful time in stores, working alongside Retail Leaders to solve real operational challenges and strengthen how risk is managed. As our Safety Operations Manager, you’ll partner with leaders across your division to shape and deliver an engaging safety strategy focused on life‑threatening risk, injury prevention and great safety leadership. With plenty of autonomy to plan and prioritise your work, you’ll balance time in the field with coaching leaders, using insights to identify opportunities and helping embed national safety programmes in ways that work operationally. You’ll also lead and develop a Safety Business Partner.
You’re a practical, experienced safety leader who enjoys being close to operations and working through problems with people. You can think strategically, but you’re equally comfortable getting into the detail when it matters. You build trusted relationships, influence with credibility and know when to coach, challenge or hold a clear position. Importantly, you’re comfortable working with autonomy, using your judgement to focus your time where you can make the greatest difference.
You’ll be part of a workplace where you’ll feel like you belong. We love the diversity across our teams, brought together in an inclusive culture guided by our values. We welcome applications from individuals of all ages, cultural backgrounds, abilities, sexual orientations, and gender identities. We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to apply and join us in shaping a workplace that celebrates First Nations voices, perspectives, and contributions. Please note, you must be age 15 or over to apply for a role at Bunnings. We’re all about fairness at Bunnings, and our team’s here to support you every step of the way. If you need any adjustments, just let us know - we’re here to help. If you’ve got the experience, skills, and drive to grow - but don’t quite nail every part of the job description - we still want to hear from you.
