Job summary

Randstad in Canberra is partnering with a premier contractor to appoint a dedicated Safety Manager who oversees site safety across multiple projects and subcontractors to ensure compliance and foster a proactive safety culture.

The role requires extensive knowledge of construction safety regulations, hands-on risk assessment, and strong communication to coordinate with project managers and site teams on implementing safety protocols daily.

Qualifications

• High level knowledge of construction site safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Proven track record managing site safety for up to 20 sub contractors simultaneously.
• Deep experience in construction safety, or as a Project Manager with exceptional safety management skills.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills to drive a positive safety culture on site.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing site safety management across approximately 20 sub contractors to ensure strict compliance with ACT safety standards.
• Conducting regular site inspections, hazard identifications, and risk assessments on active construction sites.
• Implementing, maintaining, and auditing work health and safety policies and procedures.
• Working alongside project managers and site supervisors to integrate practical safety protocols into daily operations.
• Investigating incidents, analyzing root causes, and implementing effective corrective action plans.
