Job summary

Ventia is seeking a SHEQ Advisor to support projects across the ACT, with regular site visits to assess safety performance and engage with clients on SHEQ initiatives. You will drive safety improvements, lead ICAM investigations, and collaborate on health, safety, and quality programs across Ventia’s workforce.

The role requires strong knowledge of WHS, environmental and quality management systems, with a drive for continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Proven work experience in WHS, environmental and/or quality role.
• Qualification in Workplace/ Occupation Health and Safety, Occupational Hygiene and Health, Environmental or Quality Equivalent.
• Training in Environment and/or Quality management systems.
• Detailed knowledge of SHEQ legislation, regulatory requirements and ISO standards in high risk construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Participate on HSE consultative committees and maintain key client relationships to a high standard.
• Collaborate across the contract to implement Health and Safety management plans, emergency response and business continuity planning.
• Implement Health and Safety objectives by conducting thorough site inspections and recording findings.
• Monitor and report on quality of works via audits, review non-conformances and close actions.
• Conduct investigations into incidents to determine root causes and contributing factors.
• Lead and manage ICAM and Serious Incident investigations and drive learnings into the site and wider business.
• Undertake reasonable travel throughout NSW as required.

About The Role

In this role, you’ll support projects across the ACT, including regular site visits to assess safety performance and engage directly with clients to provide updates on SHEQ initiatives. You’ll drive positive change and foster a proactive culture of safety and continuous improvement across Ventia’s workforce. Additionally, you’ll:

• Participation on HSE consultative committees and maintain key client relationships to a high standard
• Working collaboratively across the contract, implement the Health and Safety management plans, emergency response and business continuity planning
• Implement the project Health and Safety objectives by conducting thorough site inspections and accurately recording the findings
• Monitor & report on quality of works via audits, review non-conformances and take corrective action to ensure prompt closure
• Conducting investigations into incidents and accidents to determine root causes and contributing factors
• Lead and manage ICAM and Serious Incident investigations and drive learnings into the site and wider business as required
• Undertake reasonable travel throughout NSW as required

Are you our next SHEQ Advisor?

• Current Drivers Licence
• Proven work experience in WHS, environmental and or quality role, preferably within services maintenance or construction
• Qualification in Workplace/ Occupation Health and Safety, Occupational Hygiene and Health, Environmental or Quality Equivalent
• Training in Environment and/or Quality management systems
• Detailed knowledge of SHEQ legislation, regulatory requirements and ISO standards within a high risk construction environment
