Job summary

Pact Group is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Advisor to partner with site leadership in NSW. The role focuses on building a strong safety culture, implementing HSE systems, conducting investigations and audits, and promoting wellbeing and regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will lead incident investigations, drive continuous improvement, and support training and contractor safety across the site, ensuring people return home safely every day.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Workplace Health & Safety (Level 4) or equivalent.
• 3+ years’ experience in a dedicated health and safety role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation, principles and best practice.
• Experience implementing and maintaining HSE management systems and supporting audits and accreditation processes.
• Confidence in incident investigation, risk assessment and corrective action management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence, coach and build effective working relationships.
• Well-developed organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
• Competence in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and system management.

Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain and continuously improve site HSE management systems, ensuring alignment with group standards and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with the HSE Lead and site leadership team to embed a strong, proactive safety culture focused on engagement, wellbeing and resilience.
• Act as a visible safety leader on site, promoting best-practice HSE behaviours and outcomes at all levels of the operation.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental legislation, standards and company requirements.
• Lead and support incident, injury and near-miss management, including investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions and follow-up.
• Support environmental management activities, including audits, monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate and support the site H&S Committee, inductions, training, audits and HSE reporting.
• Guide and coach leaders and teams to ensure HSE systems, procedures and expectations are clearly communicated, understood and consistently applied.
• Support contractor and visitor safety through effective contractor management, induction and compliance processes.
