Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or similar discipline, or equivalent working experience – ideally in systems engineering.
  • Preferably have experience in the defence industry.
  • Experience and exposure to simulation-based environments is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining safety engineering frameworks.

  • Participate in design reviews and provide safety input during all phases of the system development lifecycle.
  • Conduct system safety analyses.
  • Develop and maintain safety documentation including safety cases, hazard logs, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure safety requirements are understood and met.

Role Overview

As a Safety Engineer, the role will conduct activities applicable to contracted System Safety Plans in line with local and federal government safety regulations. The role will involve conducting safety assessments, hazard analysis, safety working groups and ensuring that all training systems meet applicable safety standards and regulations throughout the training system lifecycle.

Location: Homebush, NSW. We operate a hybrid working approach. Your role may involve some national and international travel

Security requirements: You must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
