Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking dedicated Safety Advisors for the Central-West Orana energy project to embed a strong safety culture across our energy hubs and substations, applying risk-based methodologies and leading by example on site.

The role operates on a 14 days on/7 days off roster with camp-style accommodation, based in the Central West Orana Region, and offers the chance to contribute to major HV transmission infrastructure developments in Australia.

Qualifications

• 4+ years' experience on large-scale construction projects.
• Experience in high voltage environments preferred.
• WHS qualifications (Diploma or higher preferred).
• Safety Lead Auditor qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

Job Description An 80-year group, COBRA promotes its own efficient business model, the result of the combination of decentralization, geographical diversification and technical specialization of more than 20,000 professionals in more than 43 countries. Cobra is divided into four main sectors of activity, Networks, Specialised installations, integrated projects and concession assets.

ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed network operator by Energy Co to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network.

The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), the design and construct (D&C) consortium, will design and build the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project.

The Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Transmission Project will build new high-capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and supporting infrastructure to transfer power generated by solar and wind projects to electricity consumers. The new infrastructure is expected to be operational by 2028 and will initially unlock up to 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity.

The project consists of 90km of 500kV overhead transmission lines and 150 km of 330kV transmission lines for generator connections, stretching from Elong Elong in the west through to Barigan Creek in the east, via an energy hub at Merotherie.

Our Central-West Orana project is currently seeking dedicated Safety Advisors to share their expertise within our growing Energy Hubs and Substations teams.

Key Responsibilities

We're looking for dedicated Safety Advisors to bring their expertise to our Central-West Orana team. You'll help embed a strong safety culture across the project — spotting opportunities to improve our systems, keeping tabs on safety performance, and leading the response if the need arises.

• Applying your advanced computer software skills to day-to-day HSE administration.
• Reviewing HSE systems, processes and products, and recommending practical improvements.
• Tracking safety metrics to support continuous improvement across the project.
• Coordinating incident reporting and investigations from start to finish.
• Leading by example to set the standard for safety on site.
• Managing document control processes, including recording, monitoring, archiving and producing routine written communications.

Required Skills and Competencies

You're an experienced HSE practitioner who's comfortable working across large-scale construction projects and brings a risk-based approach to everything you do. To be successful, you'll bring:

• 4+ years' experience as an HSE Practitioner on large-scale construction projects, ideally in high voltage environments.
• WHS qualifications (Diploma or higher preferred).
• Safety Lead Auditor qualification (desirable).
• A strong communicator who applies risk-based methodologies with confidence.

This Safety Advisor role is bus-in, bus-out, with camp-style accommodation provided on a 14 days on/7 days off roster, based out of the Central West Orana Region.
