Hume City Council is seeking a Safety Advisor to join the established Safety Team in a Permanent Full Time role. Reporting to the Coordinator Occupational Health and Safety, you will provide practical safety advice across a diverse local government environment and support incident response and risk assessments.
Based in New South Wales, the position focuses on meaningful risk ownership, consultation and building capability within business areas.

Join Hume City Council’s established Safety Team as a Safety Advisor. Reporting to the Coordinator Occupational Health and Safety, you will work alongside two Safety Business Partners and another Safety Advisor to provide practical, responsive and primarily in-person safety support across a diverse local government environment.
This is an exciting time to join the team as we progress through the second year of our four-year safety maturity plan and continue implementing a refreshed safety framework. Our focus is on stronger risk ownership, meaningful consultation, proactive support and sustainable safety improvements.
The Safety Advisor will work closely with leaders and employees to provide practical advice, support incident response and investigation, facilitate risk assessments and help embed improvements into everyday work. Working alongside the Safety Business Partners, the role will support business areas to build their capability and take greater ownership of routine safety activities, while ensuring appropriate advice and assistance remain available.
