Job summary

The Catholic Diocese of Maitland – Sandgate NSW is seeking a dedicated Case Manager for the Office of Safeguarding on a permanent full-time basis. You will analyze safeguarding concerns, provide expert advice to Diocesan personnel, and conduct inquiries into abuse and misconduct.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years' frontline child protection and investigative practice.
• Ability to analyse, classify and respond to information promptly.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct investigations of complex matters.
• Ability to provide education and training.
• Ability to undertake risk assessments and develop risk management plans.
• High level commitment to ethical and evidence-based practice.
• Superior communication, liaison and conflict resolution skills, including record keeping and report writing.
• Ability to understand and apply state and federal legislation and industry standards.
• Ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.
• Sound understanding of child protection legislation (various acts).
• Experience in investigating reportable conduct with NSW Children's Guardian framework.
• Experience interviewing children and young people.
• Experience delivering child protection training to stakeholders.
• Promoting professional boundaries and conduct.

Responsibilities

• Discuss, debate and test your analysis of evidence and key decisions with colleagues and the Inquiries & Risk Manager.
• Take direction from and consult with Leadership Team as appropriate.
• Consult with officers from statutory authorities as deemed appropriate.
• Promote the sacredness and dignity of every individual and provide equitable service.
• Actively participate and model esprit de corps of the Office of Safeguarding.
