Job summary

Meltwater is seeking a commercially minded Corporate Counsel to join our APAC legal team. The role focuses on SaaS contracting, data protection and privacy, with collaboration across Sales, Deal Desk, Procurement and Product to support business objectives.

The successful candidate will handle complex commercial transactions, manage privacy issues and monitor evolving regulations, including AI-related matters, while working in a hybrid Sydney/Melbourne setting.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and active license to practice.
• 5+ years of post-qualification legal experience, in-house preferred in tech/SaaS/media monitoring/digital services.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate SaaS agreements, MSAs, order forms, SOWs, DPA and NDAs.
• Advise on privacy, data protection, information security and data use.
• Support sales/Procurement through contracting lifecycle and deviations from standard terms.
• Provide pragmatic legal guidance aligned with business objectives across APAC.
• Monitor regulatory developments affecting SaaS, data protection, AI and digital services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external counsel as needed.
