Job summary

EVT Group is hiring a Kitchen Cleaner for Rydges Resort Hunter Valley. Join a vibrant resort team and help maintain cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen and food prep areas.

You will support the culinary team, follow food safety regulations, and work rotating rosters including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays in a bustling resort setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel kitchen cleaning or stewarding is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise all kitchen surfaces, equipment, utensils and prep areas.
• Wash dishes and kitchen tools using commercial equipment.
• Maintain floors, walls, drains and waste areas in hygienic condition.
• Follow food safety, WHS and infection control procedures.
• Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals per SDS.

JOB TITLE: KITCHEN CLEANER

FUNCTION: To perform a variety of tasks as assigned by the Chief Steward with a view toward developing into a skilled, efficient, safe and hygienic Kitchen Cleaner. The Kitchen Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation standards of all kitchen and food preparation areas within the resort. This role plays a vital part in supporting the culinary team by ensuring a safe, clean, and compliant working environment while adhering to food safety regulations and resort standards.

Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitise all kitchen surfaces, equipment, utensils, and food preparation areas.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools using commercial dishwashing equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of floors, walls, drains, cool rooms, storage areas, and waste disposal stations.
• Remove rubbish and recycling and ensure waste areas are kept clean and organised.
• Follow all food safety, workplace health and safety, and infection control procedures.
• Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as required.
• Report maintenance issues, equipment faults, and safety hazards to supervisors.
• Support kitchen operations during peak service periods by maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, industry regulations, and environmental sustainability practices.

Skills & Experience:

• Previous cleaning or kitchen stewarding experience in a hotel, resort, restaurant, or commercial kitchen environment is desirable.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Physical fitness and ability to undertake manual handling tasks and stand for extended periods.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to assist where needed.
• Commitment to workplace safety and hygiene.
• Professional presentation and conduct.
• Flexible availability, including weekends, public holidays, and shift work.
• Excellent Time Management Skills
• Reliable and punctual.

• Rotating roster including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• You will need a valid drivers licence as there is no public transport to the resort
