Job summary

University of New South Wales – Port Macquarie NSW seeks a Wellness Support Advisor, Rural, to assist rural students with social, emotional, health and wellbeing needs through triage, assessment and brief therapy. The role collaborates with campus staff, RAMPH partners and central services to promote student wellbeing and resilience.

The position is part-time (21 hours a week) on a fixed-term contract to 30 June 2027, with a base salary of $118,483 pro rata plus 17% superannuation and leave

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification with post-qualifying experience in psychology, counselling, occupational therapy, social work or mental health nursing.
• Experience supporting individuals with psychosocial needs and conducting assessments.
• Ability to navigate administrative processes and liaise with stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with empathy.
• Experience delivering high-quality support programs to diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide triage, assessment and short solutions-based therapy for rural students.
• Collaborate with Faculty Wellbeing Officer and rural campus staff.
• Liaise with central services and health programs to support student wellbeing.
• Develop on-campus availability and schedule with Manager, Rural.
